You should be fine. If you I-140 is not approved by 2008, you can apply for a 1 year extension based on the fact you have an approved labor. Otherwise you would get a 3 year extension.

Hello Everyone great community here and very useful information.
Received the email from Cris I-140 approved today.
I just would like to know how long it should generally take for I-485 approval. Now visa's were current when I file I485. What is the status now do I have to wait for visa's to be current again? Sorry for lack of knowledge GC process takes so long sometimes its good to just forget about it :)

I have been in H-1B status for 4+ years. This year, I started attending full time college and had applied for transfer of status from H-1B to F-1. However, my application is still pending with USCIS. Since I need to travel home urgently, I was wondering what steps should I take before leaving so that my status is not affected. Because if I travel abroad, I will be applying for new F-1 at a US consulate, do I need to cancel my application with USCIS here before leaving? Are there any consequences of keeping my application pending here.
Any advice is very much appreciated.

Hi,
I'm presently in J-2 visa and my husband is having J-1 visa.
We both are Indian Nationals. My husband applied for J-1 visa when he was in Germany.
It is mentioned in my husband's Visa clearly that "Two Year rule does NOT apply".
3 months later, I applied for J-2 from India with his visa documents.
In my visa also, it is mentioned that "Bearer is NOT subject to section 212(E). Two Year rule does NOT apply".
Now, we both want to apply for H-1B visa seperately. I want to know whether do we need to apply for H-1B waiver?
It is very much confusing since we are Indian nationals, the two year rule applies. But at the same time, as he was in in Germany while applying, it does not apply as mentioned in the visa.
Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

Lou Dobbs said on Thursday he is considering career options including possible runs for the White House or U.S. Senate. Dobbs has drawn fire from Latino leaders and civil rights groups for frequent on-air remarks about U.S. border control and immigration that critics saw as demonizing illegal immigrants. Can we pursue to have an amendment like SKIL bill or something in Economy stimulus bill? The amendment can be relevant to economy stimulus since it will give competitive advantage to america thereby stimulating the economy. (Something like AC21 made into law in 2000 to increase american competitiveness to stimulate economy)
Also, this way, there is a chance that legal immigration issues will be discussed separately from illegal immigration issues.
The economy stimulus bill is being currently discussed in House and soon will be in Senate where lot of amendments will be voted on. The bill seems to have bi-partisan support as well. We can hope this will be one more amendment to the bill!

My wife has H1 approved. Currentlyy she is in India. Her H1B will start from October 1st. I had 2 questions:
1. For stamping does she have to wait till Oct 1st or she can go before also?
2. Based on question 1 if she can go before oct 1st and get visa, can she enter US before 1st october?

Because of some reason or the other it happend to be so bad that my I140 documents were sent by courier on Tuesday - 17 July 2007.
can any one of you please suggest what best I can do to file my 485 during this current window July 17 to Aug 17 2007.

I am currently working on H1b visa (stamped & valid till Feb 2011). My I-485 is pending (EB3, India). However, I have a need to stay on H1-B status.
If I find a new job/employer who files for an H1-B transfer:
1. Can I travel internationally immediately after getting the receipt notice? I will continue to work for my old employer till I get back from vacation.
2. In the same trip, I plan to get married and get my spouse on a H4 visa. Will getting new H4 visa be an issue in such a case?
3. Any issues at POE?

Ok, heres the problem. When i got to export my animation, it always slows down on the eighth frame exactly when its doing the ravid thing. I mean it will take 5-10 per frame until it gets to the eighth frame, then it takes about 20 minutes a frame...why? Is there anything im doing wrong???
