This is allowed since the laws are not very specific yet on 2 concurrent applications even though they recently brought out a rule on multiple filings by one employer and multiple perms for diff. positions for one employer. However you need to puruse it at your own risk. lawyers are happy and might even encourage you since they will get double the fees. In the I140 stage there is a column where you have to say if you have any other immigration application that is pending or has ever been denied. also I have heard that USCIS has been scrutinizing more carefully multiple applications especially after the bi specialization of the centers. Basically you don’t want to give an impression that you are doing fraud, because green card is only for a future employment for one employer. People have been doing this multiple application and labor substitutions in the past and authorities have been coming up ways and means to stop this or pass it through careful scrutiny.

It is not just enough for you to have the qualifications for EB2. The job requirements also should have that requirements. So in the PERM application - the job requirements has to be specified. I think the lawyer messed up the PERM process

Yes. One envelop for AP and the other one for EAD. Put both envelops in Fedex envelop.

If they already cashed your check for all the applications, you can call USCIS and ask what happened.
Can't you see the receipt # of her I-485 and your I-765 at the back of the check?

I am trying to fill the G325 Application. I have one field left to fill Alien Registration Number. Is this the I-94 number or any other number on the Visa or any other document?

Alien registration number is found either on I-140 receipt/approval on top of beneficiary's name. If you're not sure, just leave it blank or put N/A. This is different from I-94 number.

According to a recent Newsweek article, Immigrants irrespective of their legal status are actually good for the job market, and boost the economy.
Lou Dobbs, take note: immigrants are good for our economy. The most skilled create jobs in technology and engineering, says Duke professor Vivek Wadhwa, who estimates that in 2005 immigrant-founded engineering and tech companies employed 450,000 people and generated $52 billion in sales. But even the least skilled more than repay their costs in schools and health care. Two highly respected Australian economists, Maureen Rimmer and Peter Dixon, studied the issue for the libertarian Cato Institute. "The net impact on U.S. households from tighter border enforcement is unambiguously negative," they found, because even low-skilled immigrants expand the economic pie and create jobs farther up the ladder. Hi All,
Please help!!
I will be completing my first 3yrs of H1 in Sept 2010. My I-797 is valid till Sept 2010. I-94 & H1 visa expired on April 4th 2010.
My company has applied for 1-129 on April 1st 2010.
I have a few questions -
1. Since my 1-94 is expired and H1 too, am "I out of status"? - I-129 is still pending, I have received the receipt from USCIS on April 12, 2010.
2. If I am out of status, is it going to effect my visa renewal or H1 extensio?
3. What to do?
Your response will be highly appreciated, I am very confused.

Sorry to hear that you are in this situation. It took about 8 weeks. Also one more thing, during this ordeal, I talked to an experienced lawyer who also said 8 weeks.

Let the flowers reach them; let the suitors file the suit. But don't you think we should start a 'Seek information' campaign. Each of us write letters and faxes to DOS and USCIS and request them for this.
In May'07 the DOS moved forward the visa dates by 2 years for almost all categories. Now since USCIS have already receipted (or will soon do it) all the June applications, they should be in a position to release the information on how many applications they received for each category and for each country. We will request both the agencies to work together and release some kind of statistics some predictions like what they expect for Sept visa bulletin and further. We are living in dark and information like this will give us some insight and will let us plan our careers.
Guys please think about this seriously, I think this is the need of this hour.

If it is by and large the same business, their immigration lawyer will have to file some paperwork indicating the company has changed its structure and for the paperwork to be amend under the new name.

I think your first point is valid. I would do the same thing. If you are using AP, I don't think you need to go for stamping.
Your second point is some what complicated. As your H1 is expiring in April, if you renew it later in July, it might go for consular processing, which means that you won't get the I 94 with the approval notice. In that case you need to reenter uisng a valid visa.

I got a family based green card (through my father - F1 family based category).
My father lives in east coast.
When I entered US on immigrant visa at that time my father was in India for one month visit.
Before my father come to US I moved westcoast for Job.
So basically after getting GC I have not stayed with my father even for a single day.
Now I am planning to go to east cost to visit my father and from there we are planning to visit canada.
My questions:
1. Is there any requirement that after entering on immigrant visa(GC) I have to stay with my father (even for few days)?
2. For my Canada visit: What things I need to keep with me (except GC and Passport) while entering US (from canada)?
